George is the inhabitant of the Hoeve Velddoorn farmhouse, a registered city monument of Eindhoven. He lives here, in between a golf course, highway, technological campus and power plant. We met him by accident, and together we explored his terrain, watched his horse racing on the television, shared a breakfast and slaughtered a duck. This encounter has been furthered with a social analysis of George his relation to the place across many temporalities, searching to understand the power relation in play within the changing landscape of rurality blurry boundaries. We chose to gather these moments in a book, to tell this story in such a way that it could be told back.
